To all those who came out to support us at the Vancouver Pride Parade on Sunday August 2nd, THANK YOU! We had an amazing day! We were fortunate enough to raise $800 at the festival through sales of PFLAG Canada bracelets, our own pins and your donations. That's going to help us not only with some costs of being in the parade, but more importantly with our cell phone and support material. We're very grateful for your support!
Special thank yous go to, (and you know who you are):
· Karin & Chris and also Debbie, for setting up our festival tent and helping to mind the shop while we marched
· My mom Aideen and to Susan, our chapter president, for all the hard work you put in not only on parade day but all year round
· To EVERYONE who marched with us this year! You were fantastic!

PFLAG Vancouver Meetings
We have come to a time of change in our PFLAG chapter. Although we are still going strong, we have a very small number of people on our planning committee. For the last few months, four of us have answered the very busy PFLAG cell phone, managed the website and emails, run monthly meetings with speakers, and represented PFLAG at countless meetings and events. We have had low attendance at our meetings, and have found it increasingly difficult to meet the varying needs of our people in the setting of a meeting, so it is with regret we are announcing that we plan to discontinue our regular monthly meetings.
We have learned that other successful chapters have made this decision and we think it's right for us at this time. We will continue all of our other work. One of the mandates of PFLAG is to provide support for parents whose children have come out. We will continue to do this through our cell phone, email, and individual coffee meetings as we have in the past.
